Good Morning!

I hope your looking forward to a wonderful weekend. I can’t believe it is Saturday already! That means only one thing, it is the day for another Saturday Sketch!

Today’s sketch can be used for both masculine and feminine cards. I have gone for the pretty girlie theme, but I would love to see what you can create in a masculine theme.

Products

8 x 8 ” White Scalloped Card
12 x 12″ Paper – Papermania Vintage Notes
X Cut Nesting Dies – Star
Brown Ink
Ribbon
Paper Straw
X Cut Alphabet Die – Abracadabra

The Steps

Step 1
Trim a piece of patterned paper just smaller then the White Scalloped Card, trim another piece about 1cm smaller than the first, ink the edges of both and adhere to the card.

Step 2
Die cut the large star and score at each point to create a 3D star, adhere the paper straw to the back and attach this to the card. Add a large bow from organza ribbon. Cut out a ticket from the Vintage Notes Paper and adhere underneath the bow.

Step 3
Die cut the text and adhere in place.

Saturday Sketch #3

Here is the third of my Saturday Sketch Posts!

The sketch this week follows a valentines theme, although it could be used for a loved one or a wedding.

The three hearts are the main focal point.  This sketch would look great turned so that the hearts were at the bottom.

Products

Kraft Card
12 x 12″ Paper – My Minds Eye – Love Me
Nesting Dies – Heart
Alphabet Dies – XCut Abracadabra
Ribbon

The Steps

Step 1
Trim and score kraft card so that it creates an 8 x 8″ card.

Step 2
Trim a piece of Red cardstock just smaller than the card and adhere the patterned paper to it.

Step 3
Fix the ribbon in place.

Step 4
Die cut 3 hearts from 3 sizes.

Step 5
Layer them on top of each other using 3D foam pads.

Step 6
Cut a piece of Kraft card 9.5cm x 19cm and layer the patterned paper on top. Adhere the hearts to it evenly.

Step 7
Add the sentiment and add a bow to the ribbon.

Craft Room Refit

Good Evening!

Just to let you know that I will not be doing a sketch this Saturday due to my craft room having a complete refit!!  I managed to get my hands on a 12 x 12″ paper stand this week and the only way it will fit is to build a new work space!!

I will be sharing the pictures with you soon and be back to the usual schedule with a few new bits added next week.

Products

12 X 12″ Paper – Echo Park – Love Me
Red cardstock
Turquoise cardstock
Grey cardstock
Twine
Bunting Punch – Stampin’ Up!
Mini Heart Punch – Stampin’ Up!
X Cut Nesting Die – Scalloped Heart, Heart
The Steps

Step 1
Trim Turquoise cardstock slightly smaller than the 8 x 8″ Scalloped Card.  Layer the Love Paper on top.

Step 2
Cut a Square of Red Card 11cm x 11cm and mat the Heart Paper onto it.

Step 3
Cut another square from Red cardstock 13.5cm x 13.5cm.  Layer on it Grey cardstock and then the Check paper.

Step 4
Adhere the 2 squares to the base square.

Step 5
Die cut 1 Scalloped Heart from Grey cardstock, 2 Hearts from Turquoise cardstock and one Heart from Red cardstock.  Score all the hearts apart from the Scalloped Heart through the centre and adhere together.

Step 6
Cut four flags of bunting and adhere to the card base as shown in the sketch.  Use Twine bows at either end, and punch hearts to go in between each flag.

Step 7
Wrap Twine around the centre of the square where the Heart will sit.  Adhere the Heart to the centre of the Square.

Step 8
Add the Love Me sentiment.

Step 9
Adhere the base to the Blank White Scalloped Card.

Saturday Sketch #1
As you can see I have turned the Sketch at a 90 degree angle so that the small squares sit at the bottom of the card. It just shows you how versatile sketches can be and they are there to give inspiration but can be altered anyway you please.

Nesting Die – Square
Digital Image – Feed The Birds – The Stamping Shack

The Steps

Step 1
Trim a piece of Pink Cardstock just smaller than the Scalloped White Card. Mat and layer Blue Patterned Paper on top.

Step 2
Colour and cut the image and adhere to blue patterned paper, then pink Cardstock and finally Kraft Card.

Step 3
Adhere the image to a piece of Flowery Patterned Paper and leave a 1cm border around the edge.

Step 4
Die Cut the grass and add this to the bottom of the image.

Step 5
Die cut 3 scalloped square and 3 squares. Adhere the squares to the Scalloped Squares.

Step 6
Embellish the squares with flowers and a heart.

Step 7
Add ribbon to the left side of the image and adhere to the White Card Base.
