I have to be honest until recently Embossing Folders were something that I rarely used but lately … Wow!! I love them!! They add such great detail and elegance to so many projects. I am addicted. I have been working with some gorgeous ones from Sizzix that are a new release fro November. Both the Trellis & Swirls Set and the Dots, Zig, Zags and Flowers Set are going to get so much use in my craft room!
Here are a few samples from the recent Create and craft show demonstrating how i have used them so far!
This box was made by simple die-cutting it from acetate and then running the acetate through the big Shot with the Trellis Embossing Folder. It gives an amazing effect on acetate which could be used on so many different projects.
Embossing folders give a romantic and classic look to projects and are great for any type of wedding stationary. It takes some plain cardstock and makes it so elegant.
Again, this gift box gets an elegant look by adding some embossed panels. The flowers are from the new 3D Flowers Diewhich if you take a look at my previous post shows how versatile this die can be!
This card has been made by embossing some vellum and then inking over the top in bright colours. Such a great effect and an amazing way to create your own patterned paper.
Finally the snowman card was created by embossing some silver cardstock and inking over the top with a pigment ink. Simply add embossing powder and heat emboss. It gives a really sparkly festive effect.
I would love to see your embossed projects or if you have nay questions about these projects please get it touch.
Today I am here to share some samples from the recent Create and Craft show using the Tim Holtz Caged Bird Die. This die can be used in so many ways and the bird and cage can be used separately as well as going together beautifully.
The die makes such cute little framed pictures, great for gifts.
It is also great for so many occasion cards. Both male and female cards will be created using this die.
It will be great for all sorts of festive projects. I made this little having cage by adding acetate between two die-cut gold cages. The acetate gives it added strength. These could be changed for any occasion but for now I am going to be making a few more for our Christmas tree this year!
As always if you have any questions about any of these projects please contact me and I will do my best to help.
I have been having an amazing time working with the new dies from Sizzix in preparation for the Create and Craft show last Sunday. This week I will be sharing some of the samples and demonstrations from the show, as I know often a lot of people ask for pictures to have a closer look.
There are so many fabulous products to chose from but today I am going to start with the 3D flower. This is possible one of the most versatile dies I have ever worked with and I have so many ideas in my head for future use!
This first one was made using a baby food jar. I have simple wrapped garden twine around it. I have die-cut the 3D flower from Hessian and two from paper and adhered them using the glue gun. The inside of the jar has small decorative stones and I have used the flower, heart and butterfly from the starter kit. These have been adhered to kebab skewers and placed in the stones. These would make great name places for a wedding table or just as decoration at a dinner party.
The second make was a Hessian bag that I have added lots 3D flowers cut from felt. I used a rainbow theme and kept all the flowers to one side. This bag has been so popular and I have had so many requests for people wanting these as their Christmas present!
Finally I added lots of these flowers to cocktail sticks and placed in a mini sweet bucket. Again these would be cute as mini table decorations or wedding gifts for the guests.
Tomorrow I will be back with some samples from the Tim Holtz Caged Bird Die but until then…
Happy Sunday and welcome to my first post in a very long time!! Life has just taken over this month and I have been so busy!! But as promised here are the scrapbook layouts that I was demonstrating last Sunday on Create and Craft.
If you have any questions about any of my work please get in touch.
This layout is made using the 12 x 12″ papers from the Gorjuss range. I have see the Vintage Notes Heart die in the top corner and the little icons at the bottom are made using a circle punch to punch the small images between the decoupage sheets.
The paper people in the corner of this layout are stamped and cut out to match the decoupage Gorjuss girl. I have used my own handwriting on the tag.
This wedding layout was created using the 12 x 12″ paper with Ruby in the corner. The hearts flow from her and cascade down the page. These have been created using the Xcut Nesting Die – Heart.
The text was written on strips of paper and this idea came from Emma Collins layout in the January Creativity Magazine. I really love this effect on layouts at the moment.
I have added colour to this layout by backing it onto Bright Orange card stock from th 12 x 12″ Colossal pack. The edges of the paper has been inked in the same colour and it gives a fresh look to the layout.
This layout features torn paper with Brown inked edges. The butterflies have been stamped in the same ink and the panel underneath the photograph is cut from the decoupage box.
This layout is again created using the 12 x 12″ papers with Ruby in the corner. I have used the Craft Tape in the corner and the mini notelets on the side of the photograph.
I have added Ruby to the layout by stamping her in Black Dye based ink stamped onto the Beige patterned paper from the 12 x 12″ paper pack. The alphabet used is the Xcut Abracadabra Die.
The image in this layout has been stamped onto Beige patterned paper from the 12 x 12″ paper pack using Chocolate Brown ink. I have added Twine leading from the Ruby stamped image to the cat and bunting has been added to the side of the photograph to add detail.
Well, I think that is it for the layouts but I will also post some pictures of the cards that I made. Thank you so much for looking and I promise next time I won’t leave it so long!!
Afternoon everybody! First I need to apologise for the lack of posts yesterday and today! For those that don’t know I have my first appearance on Create and Craft TV tomorrow afternoon at 2pm. So I have been hard at work preparing card samples etc for that.
In amongst the crafting I have been busy clothes shopping, trying to find three outfits, nothing like shopping under pressure! Nails and hair are being done today and then this evening I will be packing the car and heading up to a rather chilly Peterborough!
So for the important information, tune in at 2pm, 17th January on Sky channel 671, Freeview channel 36 or Freesat channel 813. You can also watch live on the internet by going to my In The Media page and clicking on “Create and Craft Watch”…
