Docrafts Lavender Capsule Collection

| Blog, Do Crafts

A couple of weeks ago I was featuring the Lavender Capsule Collection on Create & Craft.  As promised here are some of the samples made for the show.  A little late but due to travelling and suffering from the worst flu I have ever experienced I have only just got around to sharing!

The first card is a circular easel card with the wooden owl as a topper.  This can also be separated to use as decoration afterwards.  The owl has been decorated using pearlescent pens and then painted over with an acrylic paint to create a vintage look.

I have to be honest and say Purple is a colour I don’t normally work with but I am so pleased with the results from this collection.  It is soft and feminine and yet very striking.

Again the wooden butterfly has been coloured using pearlescent pens, this time it has been left so that the colour is more vibrant.  I have used a green backing to bring out the colour of the butterfly.

To show how versatile this range really is I have created an Easter card simply using the patterned papers with an embossed background.  Embellished with ribbon and lace gives a lovely spring finish.

Here I have added some of the embellishments to a hessian bag – Perfect for a little gift anytime of the year.

Again the wooden owl has been used, this time hanging from an appeture in an 8 x 8″ card.  The owl has been pained using Lilac and Cream acrylic paint.  I have just dabbed it on using my finger  tips to created a soft, light covering.

I would love to see what you have created with this range.  If you have any photographs please share them with me!

Hi Katie, thanks for sharing the Lavender Capsule collection, some good ideas there. Nice to see you on C&C, hope you can do more shows, it’s nice to have someone new who’s got some fresh ideas. I’ve admired your work for a while either in the Creativity Mag or on your blog. X
